HO CHI MINH CITY SETS GOAL TO BECOME A REGIONAL LOGISTICS HUB

Ho Chi Minh City aims to become a leading logistics hub in Southeast Asia by 2030, positioning the industry as a core driver of the local economy while actively participating in the global supply chain. The city is focusing on developing logistics infrastructure, seaports, and enhancing connectivity among key economic zones in the southern and southeastern regions. Priority will be given to projects involving 4.0 technology applications, digital transformation, renewable energy use, and green transition.

Looking ahead to 2045, Ho Chi Minh City envisions becoming a major logistics hub in Asia and globally, with logistics as a spearhead economic sector. Currently, the city leads the nation in the Logistics Competitiveness Index (LCI) and is home to major ports and airports, such as Tan Son Nhat and Cat Lai, which facilitate a significant portion of the country’s cargo transport. In the first eight months of 2023, revenue from logistics services reached nearly VND 289.4 trillion, driven by robust growth in freight transport and warehousing services.
