EVENT ON THE ROMANCE OF SAILORS
Dear poetry lovers and ocean enthusiasts,
The Seafarer Club is pleased to invite you to an event celebrating the romance of deep-sea sailors with the theme:
“Cánh thơ vờn cánh hải âu
Nhắn ai bốn biển năm châu nhớ về!”
This event promises to be full of romance, where poetry and the sea intertwine in the sailors’ world. Cheif Engineering Bùi Thái Hùng will share poignant verses filled with memories of life at sea and fascinating stories from the sailor profession. His presence will provide unique perspectives and genuine emotions about the sailor’s life through long journeys at sea.
The program will also feature writer Trần Nhã Thụy. His published works include: Lặng lẽ rừng mai (short stories), Thị trấn có tháp đồng hồ (novel), Sự trở lại của vết xước (novel), Chàng trẻ măng ở phố treo đầu (short stories), Cuộc đời vui quá không buồn được (essays), Triều cường, chân ngắn và rau sạch (essays), Hát (novel), Ba tao bay ra ngoài cửa sổ (short stories), and Trong và ngoài căn phòng tôi (essays)…
He has received several literary awards, including the Young Short Story Prize (Văn Nghệ Trẻ newspaper – Vietnam Writers’ Association, 1998), the Short Story Prize for Youth Literature (NXB Thanh Niên – Văn Nghệ newspaper – Vietnam Writers’ Association, 2003), and the HCMC Writers’ Association Award for the novel Sự trở lại của vết xước (2009). He will share stories and emotions from his journeys and his literary works.
