We all know that yachts are often associated with luxury and high costs. But have you ever wondered about the technical standards and certifications required for these types of vessels? To address these questions, the Seafarer Club is organizing a discussion event titled “100 QUESTIONS ABOUT YACHT STANDARDS & WHAT DOES CE MARKING MEAN?”

  • Time: 08:30, Sunday, October 6, 2024
  • Location: 25C, Block 1, Alley 719 Huỳnh Tấn Phát Street, Phú Thuận Ward, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City.

Contents:

  1. What is CE Marking?: We will explore the meaning of CE Marking and whether it is the same mark found on electrical outlets, computers, and medical scanning devices like MRay. But why is CE important in the yachting industry?
  2. Why talk about yachts?: We often think of yachts as luxury items, but we cannot forget that there are millions of smaller vessels, from sailboats to traditional fishing boats, in operation. How does CE affect the management and standards of these types of boats?
  3. Impact on current vessels: Does accepting CE change the way we operate on rivers and seas?
  4. Who issues the CE mark?: Is the issuing authority for CE certification the Marine Registration? How are neighboring countries like Malaysia and the Philippines managing the construction of small vessels?
  5. Challenges in yacht production: Why is Triac facing difficulties in bringing the Trimaran into mass production?

The discussion will be led by marine researcher and engineer Đỗ Thái Bình, who has extensive experience in maritime research. This event also serves as an important precursor to the upcoming seminar organized by VISIA.

The Seafarer Club warmly welcomes friends and colleagues to participate in the discussion!
